What is Passages?

Passages is going to be your new desktop browser, replacing Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, or whatever unsafe browser you used in the past.

Use Passages instead of your old browser. Surf the web, open links in emails or documents, download, print, and save content like you already do. Passages will protect you from malware, targeted attacks, and other online threats.

For more information on how Passages combines isolation and identity protection to counter modern attackers, please be sure to check out the Passages website at GetPassages.com
Step 1: Find your welcome email

NOTE: If you've already received your user credentials, please proceed to Step 2.

You will have a welcome email from the Passages team like the one above in your inbox. Click the "Click to Activate" button to open the account activation page.

Enter your password. Once your password is set, your Passages account will be activated. When you log in to Passages, you'll use your email address for your username. You'll need to enter your username and password to open Passages.

Download the Passages installer for your computer's operating system. Once downloaded, you'll need to run the installer to start using Passages. Links to the Passages Help Center and User Guide are also available here in case you'd like extra information.
Step 2: Run the installer

If you cannot access the activation landing page or would like to install on another device, you can download the latest installer using the links below:

Windows Installer - https://download.getpassages.com/installers/PassagesSetup.exe
macOS Installerhttps://download.getpassages.com/installers/Passages.pkg

After downloading the installer, it will open and begin the installation process. Follow the instructions in the installer. You can find a detailed guide on the installation process in the Passages Help Center.

WINDOWS INSTALL TIP: If you’re deploying on Windows devices, please note that you must activate VT-x/AMD-v hardware virtualization support in your BIOS settings in order to run Passages. The Passages installer will automatically attempt to make this change, and may require a restart if this feature is not already enabled.

Step 3: Make Passages your default browser

On Windows, open Control Panel and select Programs. Select Default Programs and then select Set your default programs. On the Set Default Programs window, choose Passages from the "Program" section and select Set this program as default, then click OK.

On macOS, open the  Apple menu and select System Preferences. Select General. Click the menu next to Default web browser and select Passages from the list of available browsers.
Step 4: Open Passages

Now that Passages is installed, it's time to start browsing. Open Passages from Programs or Applications, or use the shortcut on your Desktop or Dock. Enter your username and password to log in.

This launch window details how Passages is securing your browser session. Starting the browser should only take a moment.

Once Passages loads, you can use it just like your normal browser. For detailed instructions on the features and capabilities of Passages, be sure to check out the Passages User Guide.

Step 5: When you close your browser, we destroy everything

Don't worry! Your bookmarks, plugins, and browsing history will be there when you get back!

When you want to launch Passages again, just open the program or click on a link. Your new session is built from scratch - like using a new computer every time you get online.

Administrators have access to additional controls and features in the Passages Administration Tool. Click here for more information on adding users, setting preferences, and more!
