Passages uses a secure OpenVPN tunnel to communicate with our private cloud and connect to the internet. This ensures that all communications to and from the Passages secure virtual browser are encrypted, and isolates your local network from activities performed in Passages. By limiting all web traffic for Passages through OpenVPN, Passages ensures that your organization's network, infrastructure, and local device information remains completely isolated from your browsing activity, providing the greatest level of security for Passages users.
Connecting to Passages' OpenVPN servers may require some network configuration changes, as some new connection types are blocked by default for security purposes. If you are unable to connect to Passages' OpenVPN servers, you should check your local and network firewall settings to ensure that all required ports/protocols and IP addresses are available.
Connecting to Passages' cloud services requires that the following IP addresses are not blocked by your device or network: 22.214.171.124 and 126.96.36.199. For optimum performance, it is recommended that customers connect to Passages' OpenVPN servers over port 1194 (User Datagram Protocol or UDP). If Passages is unable to connect over port 1194 (UDP), the application will fallback to port 443 (Transmission Control Protocol or TCP). Please note that connecting over port 443 may result in degraded network performance.
